Gather:Make:Shelter Celebration

  • Pioneer Courthouse Square 701 Southwest 6th Avenue Portland, OR, 97204 United States (map)

You're invited to participate in a unique event at Pioneer Courthouse Square designed to provide connection between people experiencing homelessness and those more fortunate in Portland. Join us for music, art, poetry, and more! This event combines art making, skill building and philanthropy through a direct, humanitarian effort within our community.

EVENT DETAILS: Come to Pioneer Courthouse Square to meet participants, sponsors, and volunteers who have been involved in the Gather:Make:Shelter project over the last 8 months. Hand-painted bowls created by our community will be available for sale; proceeds will be used to provide housing for fellow citizens. There will be music, poetry, and opportunities to discover more through community liaisons who will highlight practical considerations that may help build genuine connections between diverse communities.

About the project: Gather:Make:Shelter is a citywide creative collaboration shepherded by artist Dana Lynn Louis to create a new model of engagement and connection between people experiencing homelessness and those more fortunate in Portland, OR.
