Intentionally Building an Anti-Racist Company

How can you work towards anti-racism at your company? Join BBPDX members Avenue, Green Zebra Grocery, UD+P, and Modernist Financial as we discuss how institutionalized racism can be perpetuated within our organizations—and how the fight to end it needs to be led from the top, informed by those who are most systemically impacted.

This panel will be moderated by Farhad Ghafarzade of Green Drop Garage. The panelists, including Anna Madill, Lisa Sedlar, Joy Wilson, and Georgia Lee Hussey, will show that working towards explicit anti-racism not only makes the work environment safer and more caring for employees and customers, but also contributes to a vision of a more equitable Portland.

Panelists’ companies represent a wide swath of business sectors—and each is conducting a critical assessment of their workplace and taking action to make their systems safer and more equitable. This forum is open to BBPDX members and prospective members, and will include a Q+A led by BBPDX. We look forward to your participation in this valuable conversation!
