Weigh in on Increasing Housing Options in Portland Neighborhoods
As Portland's housing crisis continues, City Council will decide this fall whether or not to re-legalize duplexes, triplexes and fourplexes—so-called "missing middle" housing—in Portland neighborhoods.
Join other BBPDX members to dig into the details of the current Residential Infill proposal, consider amendments to it, and outline an engagement strategy for the coming months.
A panel discussion of subject matter experts moderated by Associate Board member Mike Westling will feature Madeline Kovacs (Sightline Institute), Oriana Magnera (Verde), Neil Heller and Garlynn Woodsong (Cascadia Partners), and Rose Ojeda (Hacienda CDC). There will be opportunity for Q&A, and time for discussion.
In addition to our assessment of the City's proposal, we may also have the opportunity to discuss HB 2001, which would legalize expanded housing options in neighborhoods throughout the state. Depending on House Ways and Means Committee scheduling, there may be a timely opportunity for this workgroup to weigh in on this priority bill.
